The Lozarithm Lens

Recent Purchases

Recent purchases, most of it collections of stuff I had before in different forms.

Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac were on a musical high on their 1970 American tour, though they were shortly to burn out quite spectacularly. The recordings made live in Boston over three nights have been available before, but not collected together and in the correct order as now on this new round box set.

The Beatles On Air Volume 2 follows up the collection of sessions recorded for the BBC at the beginning of their fame that was released some years ago. They recorded fifty sessions between 1962 and 1965 including their own weekly series, Pop Go The Beatles (that I listened to avidly at the time), so this new collection probably won't be the last.

The ten studio albums that Joni Mitchell recorded for Reprise and Asylum have been collected together in this very reasonably priced box set with cardboard replica sleeves. I couldn't resist it even though I had all of it before.

I owned a DVD of The Last Waltz before, but this expanded box set includes a number of performances by the Band, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison and Dr John that haven't been released anywhere else.

The Belle and Sebastian double-CD set collects all the fine EP's that they recorded for the Jeepster label.

Finally, my newest lens - the 55-300mm lens I've been exploring over the last week or two.
