Durham Cathedral

Day off for a trip down to Durham - somewhere we've been meaning to visit for a while. Lovely walk by the river, and then a wander round by the cathedral and castle and some of the charming streets in the centre. Specially liked the market hall!

Back up to Newcastle in the afternoon for some shopping - including some birthday boots (thanks Mr M!) - and a pub meal on the way back home.
