Update ..... with ......

....... some news at last!!

Anni aka BikerBear here reporting for Alma.

Mum was visited today by a team of doctors (most of whom looked like they were taking a day off school - the joys of my getting old, I suppose) ...... from the MRI scan done yesterday it would seem that she has severely compressed discs in her lower spine - that is what is causing the total numbness/serious weakness in her right leg.

As none of the doctors were "bone doctors" (can't be bothered to try and spell orthopaedic correctly altho' that looks about right) they were unable to tell us what the treatment or prognosis is ...... hopefully the 'main man' will be making his rounds tonight after his theatre list is finished and he will be telling Mum all about what can, or can't, be done.

Not the very best news in the world but certainly not the worst ..... no stroke, no cancer, no tumours .... so that has to be very good.
Operations may be possible but we have to be thinking about Mum's age too (and the fact that she is a smoker).

So we are a little more upbeat today and at least we know - the waiting and not knowing was awful.

Onward and upward - and now we know, you know!!
