My Best Efforts - Year 3

Update .... with .....

....... a bit more news!!!!

Anni aka BikerBear here reporting for Alma.....

What we were told at the hospital yesterday wasn't quite right but this morning an orthopaedic doctor (a doctor, not a Mister so not quite the main man yet!!) came and spoke to Mum .... seems she has Spinal Stenosis of the lumbar region - basically that is a narrowing of the spinal canal which causes pressure on the nerves in the spine and accounts for the pain and the numbness in her lower limbs.

The cure is surgery which Mum has agreed to - this is, of course, dependant upon the anaesthetist and the "main man" being satisfied that she is fit enough for the operation - but they seem very optimistic as she has general good health despite the fact that she smokes and her age (I won't give it away but I am very, very close to 62 so you can hazard a pretty good guess - and she wasn't a child bride - lol!! She will kill me when she reads this! ).

Now what gave us a fit of the giggles was this ....... remember the other day I told you the story of the cannula and how I suspected she was auditioning for part in Buffy the Vampire Slayer??? Well, it seems that the "main man" is none other than ..... wait for it ..... wait for it .....

MR CHRISTOPHER LEE!

( Sir Christopher Frank Carandini Lee, CBE, CStJ, is an English actor.
Lee initially portrayed villains and became best known for his role as Count Dracula in a string of popular Hammer Horror films
)

After the operation I suppose we will have to say "Fangs very much!!" Sorry!

Seriously, Mr Lee will be chatting with Mum early next week along with the "going to sleep" man and they will make the final decision re. the operation .... as it stands Mum is up for the surgery and I support her decision.

Things are happening at last - yay!!!!

Once again, thank you for all your support through this tough time - it is truly appreciated. I also hope you can smile along with us at the funny bits!

More tomorrow ....

~ Anni ~

Once again, in the spirit of blip, Mum's journal entry from this date last year captured from my computer screen this evening.
