At Upton Bishop: Sleeping horse.....

The winter mornings are filled with freezing misty air. The early sun beams through, powering down beams of light in every direction. The school run, is a scenic journey winding through a dark wood, shafts of light dancing through the trees. Then onward over open farmland, the gentle curves of the fence line winding over icy carpeted fields. We pass a stunning scene, I have made a mental note to stop one day. Its of a field of pure breed Hereford cattle. Their purity distinguished by the similarity of their markings. A pleasure to see. A proud farmers hard work. Perhaps a life time of breeding. I pass him sometimes in his old tractor. He's an old boy. I wave to him as I pass. A sign of respect. Well done you.

Its hard to not pull over and take pictures on your way to school. We are always in a rush to get to school. On the way home, today I take my time. I see the light and the mist hanging. I pass a local stud farm. A brief glimpse of a dozing brood mare standing in the mist. I pull over, and walk back up the road. The light and the mist are a passing moment. Within the hour, it is gone. I snap a picture. A one off. An original....x
