The Lozarithm Lens

Smokey 2330 hr

Another day when rain and lack of light discouraged outdoor photography. In fact it was nearly midnight before I got out the Tough compact. Smokey was sitting on my lap and I had to guess the composition as I was holding the camera in a position that hid the live view from me. Some were accidental "selfies" but this one caught most of his face.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
The Walker Brothers - Walking In The Rain (1967)
I have always loved the original Ronettes version of this, and when I heard this cover by the Walker Brothers on the radio recently, I was struck by how closely they had stuck to the original arrangement and production, complete with thunder effects. Although billed as the Walker Brothers the vocals appear to be Scott Walker double-tracked and with a female chorus. John and Gary played guitar and drums on tour but were probably replaced by session musicians on their records (Similarly, Nedra and Estelle of the Ronettes were not on their records). This was not on the album Images, their last before a lengthy hiatus, but was later added to the CD version. In 1970, Jay and the Americans had a US top twenty hit with a bland MOR version of the song.
