On guard

We've met Harry the Hippo a couple of times before. He's still around, going strong after all this time (he smuggled himself in from Canada back in 2006).

Most recently, he looked after me when I ran away from the miserable convalescent place. He perched himself on a step half way up the stairs and wouldn't let me pass until I stopped and rested for a bit (it's hard to believe that I really needed to do that such a short while ago). Today he seemed to have decided to stand guard inside the front door, making sure I wasn't disturbed from the work which needs to be done before the trip to Antibes.

It would have been nice to get out in what looked like a quite pleasant day, but duty called and had to be obeyed. (Mind you, I'll have to make up for it tomorrow and walk twice as much as usual.)
