Grey sky and bare trees

Forcing ourselves out rather late this afternoon, we headed for Glenkin on the principle that walking uphill and down on a rough track would provide us with a more demanding hour of exercise than a level road - and we only had an hour before it would be too dark for safety. I actually love these two trees - I've photographed them often - but what strikes me when I look at the photos from the past week is how much greyer this one is than even the photos taken in cloud on a mountain top in Gran Canaria.

The good news, however, is that we both felt full of walking, even after the travelling of the weekend and a morning spent - by me anyway - running up and down stairs with armfuls of laundry. Keeping this level of activity going seems important to both of us, even though it takes chunks of time out of each day - so much so that I count it as something I will put off other demands in order to accommodate the exercise.
