Who's Got The Ball

While this is not the greatest volleyball photo (except for the position of the ball) it does allow me to talk about our aborted bronze medal game. Last week we lost a tough semi-final match to the third place team in our league (we were in second at the time), so this week we should have been out for revenge in the match for third and fourth. Unfortunately only four team members showed up and we need five to be able to play. Our opponents, however, only had two at match time. A very anticlimactic end to the season. I have heard more than one that if a team thinks they are going to lose, they simply don't show up - happier to take a forfeit rather than a loss. Not certain if that is the case here, but with only four and two it seems like nobody wanted to play for third (except for my teammate warming up in the background of this shot). That would make for a pretty boring Olympics if those athletes felt that same way. Not sure which person actually passed the ball in this shot, could have been either.
