Pete arrived for a weekend visit this morning, just in time for coffee with Emma at Nero.

Later we met Roz at The Windmill and had a good natter and a couple of pints of Abbot. As the big race was today they switched on the TV in the pub and we were able to watch all our horses miss out on the first four, except for Balthazar King which was Roz's horse in The Garrick sweepstake and came in second.

I have mixed feelings about the race and the possible cruelty to horses, though I have to admit to feeling excited, along with the rest of the spectators in the pub, as the race progressed.
