Glasgow Friday

Through to Glasgow for much cultural offerings today - on our travels we passed this fab example of shutter art in the Saltmarket, which won out as today's blip. Check out Artpistol for more of their brilliant work.

We started off with A Play, a Pie and a Pint at Oran Mor - our play was The Last Bloom, which was fab, funny & rather touching. We then subway-d east and visited various galleries: Mary Mary, Kendall Koppe and the Modern Institute's Anne Collier exhibition. Popped into a pop-up nail salon where you can get Alistair Frost's designs applied to your nails. I have a full appointment booked for next Friday - but did leave happily with one designed nail (which I'll likely blip soon)!

Then a walk through Glasgow Green to The People's Palace for the Red Road Flats exhibition - very moving (and topical). A wander up the road a wee bit to check out Glasgow Women's Library in their new home, where we watched the film of A Feminist Chorus and were lucky to get a wee tour round the building before work starts to transform it into a properly fantastic host for the amazing archive and varied work of GWL. Really enjoyed this visit - they are brilliant.

Jumped on a train back into the city centre for a cheeky Aperol Spritz at Carluccio's before heading back to Edinburgh.

Loving Gi - made much more enjoyable with my lovely Glasgow guide making sure I didn't get lost (and understood the art & the place)!
