Mechanised spring

Here in Sweden this is another an undeniable sign of spring.
All through the winter, every time it snows or freezes, gravel is laid out to make the streets safer. When the snow melts there are heaps of gravel everywhere, in the roads, on the pavements, even on the grass because when the snow (and gravel) was eventually ploughed aside it was onto the grass.
So along come the machines. The first one has a roller broom that sweeps the snow from the grass onto the road. The second machine sweeps the gravel into a large bin on the back and removes it from the road. If you compare the left and right sides of the road you can see the difference between de-gravelled and gravelled road.
After this cycling is much safer!

Today I was visiting Sundsvall, the big town about 50 km south, and the location of Mid Sweden University's central campus and several of my workmates. I walked 5 km, up the southern mountain, along the top and back down to the road. On the way home I walked another kilometer, inside IKEA. Does that count?
