Back on the beach again

We intended to cycle to Brenish this morning. However, just as we were leaving we discovered that the main cog on the back wheel of the tandem has lost its grip, which means that it cannot be ridden unless repaired/replaced. This put paid to any plans to play on the bike today, and also meant that we needed to find an alternative means of transport for our journey home at the weekend.

We have sorted out the latter with the help of a courier firm that will deliver the bike to Stornoway for us (while we head up to town by bus). As for our fun today, we headed off to the beach again for a walk to Carnish, taking in the Abhainn Dearg (Red River) distillery (the first legal one in the Outer Hebrides), and blipping this view from one of the many coves along the bay, on our way back.

Exercise today: two and a half hour walk on Uig Sands.
