Up early to mow the lawn here. Despite it being reasonably early (9ish), it was still incredibly hot. After 45 minutes of lawnmower and strimmer carnage, the lawns are actually looking pretty good.

I thoroughly enjoyed the shower afterwards.

Then we were out at the City of Bears to tackle the QSM's massive lawn. I got to use a scythe for the first time - the grass was too long for the lawnmower. That's quite hard work. And with the temperature at 30°C, it was very sweaty work.

I expect I looked a bit like Paul Newman in Cool Hand Luke. In that he sweated quite a lot in that as well. When I'm brutally honest I probably look more like George Kennedy or Strother Martin.

After several hours of hard labour and thankfully no failures to communicate, it was lovely to get home and under the shower again.

I do hope there are no hard boiled eggs for dinner.
