Glorious Runswick Bay

Runswick Bay once had a twin opposite across the bay called Kettlewell, but the whole village slid down into the sea one stormy night in the early twentieth century.
Fortunately there were no casualties as strange noises from the land alerted the village, and the people embarked on two alum ships in the bay, from which they watched their homes destroyed.
This fate has previously befallen Runswick village too, but it was rebuilt.
Kettlewell couldn't be as the land was too unstable, all that that remains is the old defunct railway station, and the road that used to lead down to the village
