Whatcom Creek Walk

Another busy day. We shopped this morning and then Helena and I took a long walk in Whatcom Falls Park while Arvin took a nap. This is a view of the creek from a bridge in a spot we usually don't walk. Today we drove to the parking lot near the big falls and took the walk down along the creek past the place where kids jump from the rocky cliffs to the pool below. They do it in spite of warnings and the distinct danger of hitting rocks in the water below. The city has clearly marked that swimming is not allowed but that doesn't deter the young men and women who swim there.

After our walk we took Arvin to an appointment with Dr Subong, a retina specialist. What we didn't know when we went was that they were the "on call" location for county eye emergencies this week. We ended up taking two hours to complete a one hour appointment. Good news though. Arvin's macular degeneration is just the same as it was a year ago. One more year to the next appointment.

We had some delicious green curry and vegetable soup from Chao Thyme that Cynthia aka Connections gave us. I added some shrimp and it was a delicious feast. Tonight we are having a quiet evening. Tomorrow is another of the very early mornings. They are worth the trouble as things are getting noticeably better. Yes!
