Horticultural Heritage

I went to the family home with two of my sisters today to clear the outbuildings.

Even though it was oppressively hot, the actual clearing wasn't too bad. It was the decisions we had to make about what to to keep and what to recycle/trash that got to us.

The property has a strong horticultural heritage. It was built in 1896 by Thomas Smith who wrote The Profitable Culture of Vegetables for Market Gardeners, Small Holders and Others, which he printed himself in one of the outbuildings.

We arranged this collection in a corner in the hope that it will demonstrate the provenance of the property.
