Standing ovation

for the Beach Boys at Crystal Palace Bowl Garden Party III.

This was very special as NBC of the USA was filming for a television special broadcast in the US on July 18 1972.

These were Canadians sitting near us, 'us' being Marion, Peter, Bruno, Johnny and myself. As well as the Beach Boys, who'd played at The Great Western Festival the   previous week-end, the line up included Joe Cocker & the Chris Stainton all stars, Richie Havens, Sha Na Na and Melanie (Safka). We also went to Garden Party IV and V that year.

I obviously had no problem snapping people in those days.
