Sgwarnog: In the Field

9yo and I took the bus for our first visit to Valley Parade for Bradford City's pre-season friendly against Blackburn Rovers. It ended goalless, but it was an entertaining match and neither Lancastrian nor Yorkshire pride was dented.

The highlight for us was being able to watch my nephew Adam, a fact which may have had some influence on the selection of images from the match for this collage.  He played half the second half at left back and half  in his usual position of right back, which made the photos easier as it brought him over to our side of the pitch. The main image has him (12) launching a give-and-go, with others showing various moments from the match.

Such were the tropical conditions that the referee declared drinks breaks in each half ensuring the spirit of the World Cup lives on. Who knows, maybe we'll see Adam in the next one?
