Mr. Goosle: Preening

Brighter droplets & drips in large ("L").

I couldn't decide what to blip today, so here is Mr., because he's v. handsome...

I went to Clapham Common today, and was shocked to find NO little Goosles! They've gone. I went to the boating pond and there were no Goosle-lings and the young pair of imposters had gone too. There were only 4 of the 11 young mallards there (with their mother), but the other seven were AWOL.

I went to Mount Pond to see if the Goosle fledglings had mini-migrated there, but there was no sign of them. There were, however, 7 little mallardlings there which was nice to see, AND the other 7 young mallards of the Long Pond 11 (which was a relief).

It's exciting that the little Goosles have moved on to the next phase of their lives, but it is sad not to be able to visit them any more.

Other shots from today (right from here):
Young mallard preening
6 of the 7 new mallardlings (all 7)
Mr. chasing a young mallard
Mrs. leaning into the strong wind
The young tufted duck is tolerate by Mr.
