dusk

A long busy day touring around An t-Eilean Sgitheanach (Skye). The Bhatairnis peninsula first, for a walk and then lunch in the Stein Inn. Langoustines...mmm.

Dùn Bheagain Castle after that. Afternoon tea as well as the tour.

On to the Talisker Distillery on the way (kind of) to visiting Port Rìgh for dinner. No distillery tour (we’ve done plenty of those) - just the shop for a bottle of 10 year old.

Dinner at the Pier Hotel in cold, wet Port Rìgh. A warm cosy restaurant. Mussels in white wine and cream sauce... mmm. One of my favourites.

Then back to our hotel in Àird a’ Bhàsair for a digestif (or 3) and a natter with other residents about the upcoming referendum. All Yes people, although the Australians don’t get to vote, unfortunately.

The day brought briefings for Dr D on single track road etiquette, crofting, Gaelic, the Free Church of Scotland, the Clearances and the West Highland weather. A good cultural introduction.

The Blip is the dusk view from our hotel. Worth the drive, I hope you’ll agree.
