Sunbeams

Nosy

This afternoon I went for a walk across the farm with some secateurs. Some of the footpath gates and stiles have become very overgrown and no one else has had the time to clear them this summer. Walkers sometime complain to the District Council if they cannot get through; I can't blame them, but alternatively we don't want them walking anywhere especially if they have dogs with them. The District Council is responsible for the maintenance of the stiles which are fast disappearing and being replaced with metal gates which are not as attractive but much easier for people like me!

We have a cow in the barn which is about to calve and needs careful surveillance as her backside was sewn up after the last calving and we must make sure everything proceeds smoothly. If necessary the vet will be called.

This calf and his mother was in a field at the end of my stile clearing.
