Soledades

A concert at Notre Dame de la Consolation this afternoon brought together actor Anne Alvaro, guitarist Pedro Soler, and cellist Gaspar Claus -- poems by Antonio Machado illustrated and accompanied by music. Some soulful and beautiful moments in a dimly lit chapel, which I didn't want to disrupt by taking lots of photos, hence the blurry but passionate results. Gaspar Claus learned to play the guitar when he was three, but after seeing a cellist at a concert, he started bowing the strings of his guitar with a wooden spoon, and his parents took the hint; he started studying the cello when he was five. Cello and flamenco guitar go together surprisingly well.

Edit: I have belatedly discovered that one of those thoughtful parents was Pedro Soler :)
