Pictorial blethers

Last sail of Autumn?

Under a gentle sky and an even gentler wind, a lone yacht sails up the Firth of Clyde from the water round Bute. Meanwhile, behind when I was standing when I took this, a tractor was pulling a trailer full of the masts of the boats of Toward Sailing Club, which were all taken out of the water today.

It was a much more lovely afternoon than we were expecting, and for much of the time the only sound was that of the small waves on the shore and the call of birds, including two rather raucous herons that flew round before settling, incongruously, in a shattered tree.
