The Long and the Tall and the Short

Today’s picture is of the back of two people walking along the street. We saw these two in the University Centre when we had lunch and were struck by the difference in height. Although this picture does not show the difference so well, one was at least a foot taller than the other so when I saw them after lunch I decided that would make a good blip.

The GOG had an early Addenbrookes appointment this morning and we had been warned that the traffic over the past few days had been horrendous so we allowed extra time. I also decided not to go up the dual carriageway, but to go to Great Shelford and use one of the side roads. We left at 0715 hours and it only took an hour and a half rather than the usual half hour. Another patient in the same clinic had come from Saffron Walden, four miles closer to Addenbrookes than we are and it had taken her two and a half hours. She had queued all the way back from the dual carriageway, probably about five miles! To make matters worse, there had been a burst water main at the main entrance to Addenbrookes so we had to make a detour although this was just as quick getting us into the car park. If he has anymore very early appointments, I think the train together with the guided bus will take the strain.

After the appointment we went into Cambridge for lunch at the University Centre, before doing some shopping, followed by more tea and coffee before coming home; a good day in all despite the rain.
