Upper Taylor River Morning

There was a hint of pink in the few clouds at dawn this morning. Starting from the vehicle at 6.am, I and the dogs did our slightly longer walk of approximately 8 kms. The time goes very quickly as I listen to music as I walk and stop from time to time to capture images of the light and landscapes. The dogs are well used to these stops and sit patiently at heel while I click the shutter, sometimes waiting for quite a few minutes for the right light. By the time we got to near the turnaround point the sun had peeked over the hills to the east and golden light was being cast on the lower hills of Meadowbank Station. Here is the upper Taylor River with Meadowbank to the right behind the willows. The vineyard on the left ….. the true right bank…. is called Gateway Vineyard. It is a lovely section of the Taylor River tracks, very quiet with only the occasional mountain biker or dog walker in the area.
Home again and visiting family helped with tidying up patio and driveway and other tasks. Mei is a great cook and produced a lovely lunch which was much appreciated.
A cold southerly change swept through late afternoon and we are presently enjoying some welcome rain…. Let it rain, let it rain please…all through the night…we surely need it to avoid a spring drought.
