Dusk at Hawes End

The weather forecast for today was wet for the morning and improving by lunch-time. In view of this we visited Threlkeld Mining Museum where there was plenty of rust to photograph.

By early afternoon the weather had improved so after tea at Nichol End we walked along the footpath to Hawes End. We were just about finished when we saw the ferry approaching and decided we could get the ferry back to Nichol End. Unfortunately the ferry couldn't stop at Nichol End as the water was too high for it to pull in to the landing stage. By the time we had walked all the way back my knees were really aching.

Driving back home tomorrow.
