Trash Disposal in Paris

These garbage collectors (eboueurs) are working at night on Rue Lecourbe, a main street in Paris's 15th arrondissement. With their modern equipment and the standard trash barrels, they are incredibly efficient--tonight there were actually two trucks, one working each side of the one-way street. As they go along they also collect the trash from the plastic bags that are everywhere on the street for pedestrians to use. Altogether, Parisian streets are generally kept strikingly clean.
