Brooklynites from Brooklyn Heights

With the weekend free, I went to stay with Drum and Steph in Brooklyn Heights.

I remember, as we walked across the bridge, the smoke from Ground Zero still hung in the air; it was a very strange time.

Drum had been at work in Manhattan on 9/11. Steph had watched the devastation from the other side of the water, not knowing what had happened to him.

At the time, they both felt the events had made them feel even more that New York was their home.
