Flaming bush

Today I have yet to take a solitary shot as I have been tied to the house with boring chores, but yesterday I took 40 or so quite reasonable photographs, both in a friend's garden in Melksham, along the Kennet and Avon near Seend, and at the Barge at Seend Cleeve, where I may have had a restorative libation. This is the beauty and the curse of the Blipfoto one-a-day challenge.

However, having gone over yesterday's pictures carefully, I have chosen this, the first photograph I took yesterday. I'm afraid I do not know the name for this bush, and neither does my friend, but those shiny new red leaves, that will become green as the season progresses, look so fresh and vibrant, like frozen fire, that it seemed the moment to capture them.

The Extras shows the canal outside The Barge.
