Black Swans

Back in April I posted a blip of two Pekin Ducks with a Black Swan in the background.  A few blippers from the N. Hemisphere commented on the Black Swan. I was in the area and went back to see if they were still there.

Unfortunately our day here had grey cloud cover again so the water is not a bright blue, but I was able to get some good shots of the Black Swans.  It was a toss up between this one and another.  The other, they held their long necks tall and elegant and had drips at the end of their becks BUT this one had the necks held differently and one drop had reached the water, better reflection to.  Both showed good detail of feathers, well the best for my camera.

The Black Swan is New Zealand's largest wetland bird.  It was brought to the South Island from Australia in the 1860s.

Friday today and now its the weekend!!
Have a great weekend everyone :)
