Sycamore

This may not look much of a sycamore but it is our sycamore. It must be at least 30 years old but likely to be nearer 40. Due to the weather we have here, it hasn't grown very tall and is now wider than he is tall. I think this will be in the main down to the salty air when the gales blow in. The wall behind it gives great protection from the prevailing wind and allows it to creep to the left. Over the past 4 or 5 years though I have seen a sharp increase in the number of seeds that are being produced and the number of saplings that start growing at the start of each spring.

In addition there is a bird feeder in the darkest corner of the tree which I now can't take out due to how quickly it grew about 3 years ago. Hopefully it will continue to survive for a long time yet and produce some seeds from which I'm hoping to grow more trees to place around the garden.
