Big Hill

I've decided to give myself a challenge for a week or maybe longer.....it has to do with pairing words with images. I love reading poetry and don't indulge this passion often enough! So, by giving myself the treat to find a poem that evokes some sense of connection to the image, I give myself the space and time needed to wander thro the collections I have! Mind you, I now have twice the amount of time and energy needed to do my blip.....thank god I'm not obsessed with the need to post every day!
My initial idea was to go thro the colour wheel.....red, yellow, blue ..... green, purple orange....then add in white, black, gold, silver.....and whatever colours in between that strikes me. So I will head down that path first, given the image i choose today.

Mindful

Every day
I see or hear
something
that more or less

kills me
with delight,
that leaves me
like a needle

in the haystack
of light.
It was what I was born for -
to look, to listen,

to lose myself
inside this soft world -
to instruct myself
over and over

in joy,
and acclamation.
Nor am I talking
about the exceptional,

the fearful, the dreadful,
the very extravagant -
but of the ordinary,
the common, the very drab,

the daily presentations.
Oh, good scholar,
I say to myself,
how can you help

but grow wise
with such teachings
as these -
the untrimmable light

of the world,
the ocean's shine,
the prayers that are made
out of grass?

(Why I Wake Early)

This follows on from yesterdays blip
