Odd

My last flat had a gas fire but the new one has an open fire. I don't think I have to worry about the chimney being clear because every few days I come home to some debris lying in the fireplace and on the hearth.

Today was a little odder than usual - this is an apple core!

I suspect some birdie was feeling the cold as I was today and did an involuntary 'chitter' while holding the apple core in it's mouth, thereby dropping it. Damn bad luck to drop it down a chimney rather than just on a roof or a garden but I guess I should be thankful the bird didn't chase it - that would have been scary (and messy!) to come home to...
