Andy's first camping trip

This was Andy's suggested title, and also his choice of picture.

The two of us went down to Thorntonloch campsite last night to brave the chilly September weather for a night under canvas. The reason being, Matt is away at Cub camp - and Andy was disappointed that although he's moved up to Cubs, he wasn't old enough to go.

I think Andy enjoyed it - he claims to have slept like a log, and didn't even complain when we realised I'd forgotten the gas for the camping stove.

After a breakfast of cold frankfurters and beans, we went for a bracing walk on the beach - where a lone fisherman was standing waiting for a bite. You might just be able to make him out.

I now feel like I was sleeping on rocks all night. But in a good way, if such a thing is possible.
