Portsmouth and beyond...

Plenty of room on top..

Enough of yesterday's 'conceptual' nonsense...

So we're nearly into Dashain and people are travelling by bus to all parts of the district and beyond in order to celebrate with their families. Virtually every bus is over laden, and it makes travelling on the London underground luxurious by comparison.

This bus was filling up with fuel at about 8.15 this morning when I passed it going in to work. Draw your own conclusions as to what travel is like inside...I've been in a few like this, but for no more than about 30 minutes. Some of these buses will be many hours on the road.

There's a few things to note in the photo... The guy standing on top to the left with the money in his hand is collecting the fares from those 'upstairs'. It frequently happens when the bus is going along.

Behind is the usual half constructed building...a familiar sight.

The woman at the back of the picture runs one of the many roadside (and garage forecourt...) tea shops.

The petrol tanker to the left is quite ornately painted....again a regular occurrence, and something I'll try and photograph another day...
