NZ Carex

A variety of NZ Carex
The Maori name is Pukio

Inbetween the heavy showers Mum and I found ourselves strolling through a native park. There were many plants flowering all with very small flowers and ones you could easily walk past without noticing. This variety of our NZ Carex caught our attention. The bright reddish flower spikes were swaying in the breeze looking quite colourful. It is found in one of the wettest areas of the park.

Quick blip today with just a few words. Time for tea and then I'll be back :)

Its now quite late and I need to turn the light out, sorry I haven't been able to comment I will endeavour to catch up tomorrow. Good night :)
