Dino Day

Today we went to Dino Day at Portsmouth University. It was arranged by the students in celebration of the dinosaur fever that recently hit the city before it was destroyed, though the fever still has some momentum.

Toddler really likes dinosaurs so this was perfect for her. I was not sure what to expect from the students but I have to say they had plenty of things to do and were very attentive to the visitors there.

It was in the main hall of the union, which incidentially, when I was last there at a gig I was thrown out for making a political statement on the stage of Pete Doherty, but that is another story.

From todays event we have come home with quite a collection of stuff, dinosaurs made from pipe cleaners (though mine looks like a dog), dinosaurs made from paper plates, plastic dinosaurs, dinosaur bubbles and an assortment of dinosaur stickers.

Although the best thing for us was the face painting, not because it is of a particularly high standard but because toddler has always had an aversion to this, and when we got there she said she did not want to have it done, though as soon as a student asked her she said yes.

After she had it done she very much enjoyed showing it off. She is really coming out of herself more and more everyday and it is great to see her confidence grow and grow.
