Ramblings of a psychotog!

Emberiza citrinella

Or yellowhammer to you and me.
I stopped of for lunch today at an old road that is blocked off due to a new bypass.
the old road is bordered by hedgrows about 2metres tall, and apparently is ideal place to spot these bright yellow birds.

I stopped there hoping to spot our usual brown garden birds or maybe a blue tit. but when this flash of gold buzzed past me i nearly dropped my camera!
I never new we had such brightly coloured birds in scotland.
I had to look it up on the computer to see what it was, at first i thought it was an escaped budgie!

Quite chuffed at spotting this chap, as according to the RSPB these are endangered and there are trying to reintroduce them to certain areas around the country.

I nearly posted this one
