The Edge of the Wold

Kent estuary morning

Waiting for the train from Arnside to Manchester, the view across the estuary to Whitbarrow. Low light just before dawn, muted colours of the saltmarsh, mudflats, woodland and water.

This is a bit of a contingency blip. I had hoped I would have an opportunity to go for a wander at lunchtime in Manchester. But the morning meeting ran late, and then there was another meeting to do before running for the direct train home. So no urban blip this time round.

Coming back through Silverdale, there was an enormous murmuration of starlings in the air over Leighton Moss, so that may be worth another try for a blip next weekend.

Tonight we have had Stuart and Jill measuring up the living room for the curtains that Wifie has found. So the final stage in sorting out our living quarters is nearly complete. It's only 4+ years since the builders started work. What will we do when it's all finished?*
