I've been taking photos for a very long time, although not necessarily very well.  I think I got my first Kodak Instamatic when I was around 13, but I had a box brownie that I was using before that.  Having moved on to sharing my girl friend (and now wife)'s Olympus Trip I managed to save up and get myself my first SLR in my late 20's, (film of course).  I tried various digital cameras over the years, mainly because of the convenience and instant appeal of being able to see the result of my efforts.  When I look back at the quality of the images achieved with their poor pixel count and artefacts, I wonder what on earth I was thinking!  Eventually I managed to purchase my first digital SLR about 10 years ago and have been using Nikon DSLRs ever since.

I have managed to achieve my 365 blips in a row and find that its become a way of life. Blip is a wonderfully welcoming and supportive community, lets hope that it can keep going.

Home is where one starts from. As we grow older
the world becomes stranger, the pattern more complicated
Of dead and living. Not the intense moment
Isolated, with no before and after,
But a lifetime burning in every moment
And not the lifetime of one man only
But of old stones that cannot be deciphered.
There is a time for the evening under starlight,
A time for the evening under lamplight
(The evening with the photograph album).
