holywood

This afternoon, after a visit to the post office at Lochside, I crossed the A76 and explored the area round the village of Holywood.

My photo shows the church, which has recently been sold for conversion into a "bespoke three-bedroomed dwelling house" complete with organ. IT must be an amazing place to live - the church was built in 1778 using stones from the monastery established on the site 500 years earlier, and is a stone's throw from the largest stone circle on the Scottish mainland.
