Loafie

There was a plan. The thought was that I'd start writing that report that needs written although that was ruined by the combination of a mild hangover from last night's pubbing, a distinct lack of enthusiasm, some email distraction and the recollection that if I wanted to sell cider to people next week I needed to get it in bottles today and then get it warm and fermenting so that I could pasteurise it and label it in time. I think I might have cut it too fine. But nothing was written. Nothing profitable anyway.

But having got through Ellen's birthday, Facebook reminded me that as well as Ellen turning 10 so does the sourdough starter. The same little yeast family reproducing in a bowl for 10 years. Imagine that: 10 years of looking after, feeding and nurturing a soggy blob of pasty white mush. And the sourdough.
