Mono Monday Mailbox

This is probably the first time this has ever been called a mail box! In the UK they are usually either a post box or a pillar box. It is pre 1952 because it has GR on it, for George Rex, the king before our Queen Elizabeth. It is bright red, as are all English pillar boxes except those in the towns of 2012 Olympic Gold Medallists where they are painted gold in celebration. I haven't yet spotted a gold pillar box. This red one is outside a sub post office in the next village.

Already this challenge has proved very interesting as we see all the different styles of mail boxes around the world. Thank you Rainie for hosting this challenge
