Tuesday 7 February 2012: Toward Halcro Head
I walked from St. Margaret's Hope in South Ronaldsay along roads to Eastside. Unlike yesterday, there was a cold southerly blowing but bright sun all day. I walked along the beach south and had coffee in the lee of the cliffs at Stews Taing, then back along and around Kirkhouse Point and The Grud, back to the road and along to the causeway. I noticed some sanderling on the beach and of 22, 5 had colour rings. I've found the appropriate authority to report them to so it will be interesting to find out about their movements.
More shots here.
