Noup Head, Westray

Cycling on Westray in a north wind that made it feel closer to February than May. The cliffs were busy but will get much busier. This shot shows a couple of gannet nest-sites that look very exposed, but they all are, I suppose.  I saw my first bonxies- great skuas, of the spring, but no decent shots. Other migrants- a single wheatear, four sand martin and two swallows and four barnacle geese, which was a new Westray bird for me. A good day out but I was glad the wind was at my back on the cycle back to Rapness in the south of the island.
