Tuesday 9 February 2010: Mimosa in the rain
Pouring with rain today, so these mimosa flowers hanging over the spikes of a garden fence in Magalas are probably the brightest I'll see today. I had the flash turned off, but it came on accidentally for this one and I think it emphasises the rather unnatural, acid yellow of mimosa, which isn't indigenous to the Mediterranean but does seem to do very well here.

Beautiful! I love this plant. I only wish it would grow here. We don't even see it in florist shops all that often.

Oh. My. Thank you for that brilliant burst of colour -- exquisite! I love their name as much as the plant.

Such a vibrant colour and the smell of mimosa is so memorable.
