Red Sox 6, Orioles 4 !!!

After a full day in class (same one as last night) we went into Boston to Fenway Park to watch the Boston Red Sox play the Baltimore Orioles and win.

The atmosphere at the park was really buzzing it's an amazing commercial machine... Unlike stadia at home (like Murrayfield) which are really only used a few times a year, Fenway Park hosts a hundred or more games each season. As a result it has many more permanent bars, food outlets and souvenir stands than we are used to. They also have an army of sellers roaming aisles with drinks, popcorn, peanuts and even hot dogs. It goes without saying that we had a beer or two, and I also had my first proper american hot-dog!

One of our group had arranged tickets for us though a cousin that works in the executive boxes in the park, and afterward the game we got invited upstairs for a look around - and were able to spend half an hour in the Owner and CEOs private box!!! They have a great view from the little open (but heated!) seating area outside the glass, and we couldn't resist getting a group shot...

Afterwards we found some friendly hostelries near to the park for another beer or two and it turned into a late night...
