The Sun will come up, tomorrow...

After yesterdays miserable weather (under statement!) I was very pleased when I opened up the curtains this morning to reveal a bright, sunny day ahead of me...

Today we had a big variety of birds in the garden, all singing merrily, there were the usual suspects such as Gold, Green and Chaffinches, Sparrows, and Tits. We also had several visits from both Male and Female Reed Buntings, which we've been lucky enough to play host to over the Winter.

Oooh, I almost forgot, we had a surprise visit from a large Female Sparrowhawk. It zoomed through the Garden at great speed, sending all the other birds in many directions. It continued to circle around the house and through the garden until it gave up the hunt.

Anyway, back to todays photo of a lovely male Chaffinch. We had several of these in the garden today, most of them feeding on the young, tender, Spring shoots that have recently burst out of the tree. Their fine orange breasts contrasted beautifully with lime green, something which, although I tried my best, couldn't quite be shown in full beauty in a picture.....Simple pleasures :)
