a day in the life of Jack

Checking things out...

We've had rain coming down since yesterday afternoon, with very heavy rain overnight. The wind was incredible, you could hear the window screens shaking, branches hitting the side of the house, but thankfully we didn't lose electricity.

This morning it's finally tapering off, there is barely a spot of snow leftover. We can finally see the grass!

We also see:

1. A few sand toys that were stored at the base of Jacks playscape that are now broken, in pieces all over the lawn.

2. Tree branches everywhere waiting to be picked up.

3. The roof of the playscape, now ripped and flapping in the wind. (That is what Jack is looking at in this photo)

But, we were lucky enough to not have water in the basement. There is a flood warning up right now, with the Yantic River in the next town above flood stage. Businesses and homes will be under many feet of water. There were reports of several cars floating down another river in our state.

We are lucky.

*Thank you to everyone who stopped by yesterday and commented, favorited, or rated my seagull photo yesterday. (except for you, one star bandit! haha!) I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time!!
